We are stoked to welcome Alex Miłowski to MicroByre as our Chief Technology Officer!

He brings decades of experience in computing and technologies surrounding data platforms and machine learning. Prior to MicroByre, he worked at leading companies like Stitch Fix, Redis, and Orange. He has also been an invited expert to the W3C.

At MicroByre, Alex will bring his vast experience to bear on our data platform and scientific workflows. Under his leadership, MicroByre will continue to build the kind of infrastructure needed to bring machine learning to bacterial biomanufacturing.

About Alex Miłowski

Dr. Miłowski is a researcher, developer, entrepreneur, mathematician, and computer scientist. He has been involved in the development of Web and Semantics technologies since the early 1990’s, primarily focusing on machine learning, natural language problems, data representation, algorithms, and processing data at scale. He is an experienced developer skilled in a variety of functional and imperative languages.

He received his Ph.D. in Informatics (Computer Science) from the renowned University of Edinburgh School of Informatics in 2014. His thesis explored large-scale computation over scientific data over the internet.

Recently, he has been working on machine learning infrastructure in combination with building machine learning applications. In particular he has researching and applying how to use Kubernetes at scale to improve the productivity and reliability of machine learning systems and data scientists.
